Privacy Policy.
Plain-language details on what data this site collects, why, and how to contact me about it.
Stephen Kevan, sole trader.
This site is run by Stephen Kevan, trading under his own name. I'm the person responsible for the data this site handles, and the person to contact about it, at skevan@stephenkevan.co.uk.
Basic analytics, and nothing else.
This site uses Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use it, things like which pages get read, how far people scroll, and anonymised heatmaps and session recordings. Clarity does not sell your data or use it for advertising. It's covered by Microsoft's privacy statement. This site does not run advertising or cross-site tracking of any kind.
If you email me, either directly or via a link on this site, I hold that email and its contents so I can reply to you and keep a reasonable record of the conversation. Beyond Clarity's analytics, that's the only personal data this site is currently set up to collect.
Nothing loads until you choose.
On your first visit, a small banner asks whether you're happy for Microsoft Clarity to run. Clarity's cookies only get set if you choose "Accept analytics". If you choose "Reject", or don't respond, Clarity never loads and no analytics cookies are set. No cookies here are used for advertising, and nothing is used to track you across other websites.
You can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of any page, which brings the banner back so you can choose again.
Hosted on Netlify.
This site is hosted by Netlify. Like most web hosts, Netlify's infrastructure processes standard technical information, such as IP addresses, in server logs for security and performance. This happens at the hosting level, not something I control directly. Netlify's own privacy policy covers how they handle this.
To reply to you, nothing more.
Any information you send me by email is used only to respond to your enquiry and, where a project goes ahead, to deliver it. I don't sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for anything beyond what you contacted me for.
As long as it's actually useful.
I keep enquiry and project emails for as long as they're relevant to an ongoing conversation or project, and for a reasonable period after for record-keeping. If you'd like older correspondence deleted, just ask.
You're in control of your data.
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to ask what personal data I hold about you, correct it, ask me to delete it, or object to how it's used. To exercise any of these, email skevan@stephenkevan.co.uk and I'll respond promptly.
If you're unhappy with how your data has been handled, you also have the right to complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
This page will grow with the site.
As I add features like a contact form, I'll update this page to reflect exactly what's collected and why, with the date at the top kept current.
